Museum of Living Art at the Fort Worth Zoo

Fort Worth, TX

The Museum of Living Art at the Fort Worth Zoo opened to the public in 2010 and is one of several projects managed by The Projects Group. It quickly became one of the Zoo’s most popular exhibits and remains so today. As Owner Representative, TPG coordinated several contractors and aquatic specialists from pre-design through construction.

This 40,000 SF facility includes spacious, humidity-controlled exhibits and state-of-the-art conservation tools, including quarantine and hibernaculum rooms created to facilitate the breeding of rare and critically endangered animals. Uniquely designed exhibit areas and outdoor classrooms encourage hands-on education and allow guests to come face-to-face with exotic reptiles like the Fiji Islands iguana and giant South American crocodiles. The project received the 2010 Building America Award and the Top Honors Award for Exhibit from the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA).
